Polar Music Prize 2010

Just moments ago, Carola arrived at the Polar Music Prize ceremony at Konserthuset in Stockholm. She is there to watch Björk and Ennio Morricone receive their awards. Other guests include the King and Queen, the Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, conductor Staffan Scheja, actor Mikael Persbrandt, singer Pernilla Wahlgren etc.

Second Christmas concert in Norway

Another Norwegian date has been added to the upcoming "Carolas Jul 2010—Från vinterskrud till morgonstjärnan" tour in December, this time in Bergen on December 12.

Pentecostal Conference in Stockholm

Carola sang at the opening of the Pentecostal Conference at the Filadelfia Church in Stockholm tonight. Other artists included Samuel Ljungbladh, with whom Carola sang U2's "In the Name of Love" in a duet.

DVD: "Carola sjunger Elvis & Barbra Streisand"

This is the cover of the upcoming DVD "Carola sjunger Elvis & Barbra Streisand—en magisk kväll på Dalhalla".

A short version will air on Swedish TV4 on August 26, 9.00 pm, but the DVD will include the full concert; 2 hours and 2o min shown in 4:3 format and Dolby Digital 2.0 sound.

The DVD will be released in Sweden on November 17, 2010.

TV: "Carola in Dalhalla"

I'm back from a vacation in Sweden, and will start updating this blog more frequently again...

Swedish TV4 will air a one hour version of the Dalhalla concert "Carola sjunger Elvis & Barbra Streisand". The program is titled "Carola in Dalhalla" and airs on Thursday August 26, 9.00 pm.

New song for childrens' TV show

Carola has recorded the duet "Förlåt" ("I'm Sorry") with Doreen Månsson—the host for the new childrens' TV show ”Dilemman med Doreen”. The show will air this fall on SVTB.

Putte i Parken

Carola performed a shortened "Carola sings Elvis and Barbra Streisand" concert at the music festival "Putte i Parken" in Karlskoga on Saturday July 31. She was the only act that managed to draw an audience (there's been many news stories this summer about failing concerts and festivals all around Sweden). To reporters she revealed that she is planning to make a big show of this concept next year and that she has been writing tons of new song during the summer. Personally I would prefer a new pop/rock album than an album filled with Elvis/Barbra material... What do you guys think?
